How often should you service your air conditioning?

July 7, 2026

Air conditioning works hardest in the summer, but the best time to think about servicing is before the hot weather arrives. For most homes, one service a year keeps a system efficient, clean and reliable. For businesses, especially shops, offices and hospitality venues that run cooling all day, two services a year is a sensible standard.

Regular servicing does three things. It keeps energy use down by cleaning filters and coils so the system does not have to work harder than it should. It catches small problems, such as a low refrigerant charge or a worn part, before they turn into a breakdown on the hottest day of the year. And it protects your manufacturer warranty, which often depends on the system being serviced by an accredited engineer.

If your system is blowing warm, making new noises, or your energy bills have crept up, book a service sooner rather than later. We look after systems across London, Kent and the South of England, from single home units to large commercial installations.
